Fender Jason Isbell Custom Telecaster 3-Color Chocolate Burst RW Electric Guitar with Gig Bag

Really nice instrument that stands up well against the Japanese ‘62 Tele I regret selling some years ago. Love the nitro road worn finish and the satin neck. The pickups are bright and it sounds just like a good Tele should. The cons are minor but worth mentioning - the fingerboard was quite dry and needed a good oil, the action was high and it took a few turns of the truss rod to get it to a height I’m more comfy with and it has to be said, a Mexican instrument for over £1200 is expensive even if it’s a cut above others from that factory. Nevertheless early signs are this is the Tele I’ve been looking for forever and it’s a keeper.

This is a nice looking we’ll made guitar and the pickups are full of individual character: a tele on steroids, full of all the sounds you want with extra heat. It just about plays out of the box, mine was unopened since it was packed in the USA so it needs a fret polish and some tweaking on the saddles and nut to get the action right for me. I love the flattened nitro finish and the rubbed down neck.
The body has been hit fifteen times on back and front with a tool to make it look used. It just looks like someone’s hit it with a tool! I may touch mine up but that’s a personal choice. Overall I’m very pleased with it and it sounds how I want it to sound.

Geweldig instrument en absoluut waar voor je geld. Laat je niet misleiden door het "made in mexico" feit. Deze custom telecaster is in mijn opinie custom-shop quality. Authentieke roadworn look. Custom J.I. pickups en de 60's C-shaped nek ligt absoluut geweldig in je hand. Ook bending en pulling is zeer vloeiend en comfortabel.

Al bij al absoluut een aanrader als je op zoek bent naar een nearly high -end Tele.

Een van de beter Telecasters die zeker z'n geld waard is! Sommigen verwachten snel een USA-made Fender voor dit geld maar ik ben van mening dat dit op zich meer een 'mentale barrière' is in dit geval. Met de opties en afwerking die er zijn, zou een Amerikaanse Tele een pak meer kosten.

De Jason Isbell Pickups zijn zeer helder en twangy en werken ook goed op laag volume, hoewel de hogere treble tonen dan wel wat kracht kunnen verliezen. op zich is dit mijn enige minpunt voor deze Tele. De nek radius van 7.25" vormt ook weinig problemen als je pakweg een 9.5" gewoon bent. Het is een beetje aanpassen, maar het zijn details! Ook de zachte en matte nitro-finish is heel mooi en road worn gemaakt, niet op het niveau van een gitaar die echt 40+ jaar op tournee geweest is of een custom shop, maar mij hoor je zeker niet klagen.
